Yunus Kürk
Muhammed Yunus Kürk has been practicing yoga since 2011 and teaching since 2013. His work is grounded in long-term self-practice and ongoing study within the Iyengar Yogatradition.
He began his practice with Ferhan Yuksel and later studied with world renowned teachers like Monica Munzinger, Ty Landrum, Petri Räisänen, Jani Jaatinen, Yuval Ayalon, Andrii Bondarenko, Juampi Travaglini, and Roye Gold. A central influence in his current practice and teaching is Usha Devi, one of the senior Iyengar Yoga teachers, with whom he studies in Rishikesh. Usha Devi is a direct student of B.K.S. Iyengar since 1993, and this lineage strongly informs Yunus` work.
Yunus has also practiced in Mysore with Vinay Kumar, focusing on backbends, and Vijay Kumar in the Ashtanga Yoga tradition for the last 3 years. His teaching is primarily based on Iyengar Yoga, blending elements of Ashtanga Yoga and a circus-informed approach to movement, emphasizing precision, awareness, and adaptability.
Since 2016, Yunus has been offering 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training programs and has trained over 100 teachers in Türkiye. He founded ODTU Yoga, the first yoga club in Türkiye, in 2013, and later established Yoga La Yoga studio in Ankara, which he ran until 2022 before relocating to the United States.
