Boulder Yoga Studio’s 200-hr YTT

How we’ve structured the training

Instead of presenting the training as a collection of topics, we've designed it as an eight-month progression.

Each monthly weekend explores a specific anatomy theme and philosophy theme, allowing students to revisit concepts from multiple perspectives throughout the year. Every weekend begins and ends in practice, grounding the learning in lived experience rather than theory alone.

As the months unfold, students move from foundations and observation to sequencing, adaptation, practice teaching, and ultimately teaching full classes with confidence and clarity.

By spreading the training across eight months, students have time to absorb, apply, reflect, and return with new questions, which is an essential part of meaningful learning.

The threads that run through everything

Rather than treating anatomy, philosophy, and teaching methodology as separate subjects, we've woven them together throughout the entire training.

Each weekend includes:

  • A dedicated philosophy immersion

  • Anatomy and movement education

  • Asana practice

  • Teaching labs and feedback

  • Meditation and breathwork

  • Personal reflection and self-study

Throughout the year, students also explore all ten Yamas and Niyamas, not as concepts to memorize, but as principles to embody in practice, teaching, and everyday life.

What we’re excited about

We're excited to create the training we've always wanted to teach.

One that honors yoga's philosophical roots while remaining relevant to modern life.

One that values critical thinking as much as tradition.

One that develops strong teachers through practice, mentorship, feedback, and community.

Most of all, we're excited to spend eight months growing alongside a cohort of students who are curious about yoga not only as something they do on a mat, but as a lifelong practice of learning, service, and connection.

Our Approach to Accreditation

You may notice that our training is accredited through the American Yoga Council rather than Yoga Alliance.

This was an intentional choice.

While our curriculum aligns with Yoga Alliance standards, we felt that the American Yoga Council's approach better reflects the values at the heart of our program: meaningful mentorship, depth of study, strong teaching skills, and yoga as a lifelong practice.

For students who wish to pursue Yoga Alliance registration after graduation, our training is designed to support that pathway. At the same time, we believe the quality of your education matters far more than the logo on a certificate.

Our focus is on helping you become a knowledgeable teacher, a confident leader, and a dedicated student of yoga, whether your goal is teaching professionally or simply deepening your practice.
