Massage & Bodywork

We don't offer massage or bodywork services at the studio, but several of our teachers do this work independently. We're happy to point you in their direction!

Sports Recovery Treatment with Dave Moore

60 to 90 minutes of sports bodywork and acupuncture, designed to help you recover, move better, and land in a deeply calm state.

Dave Moore brings together sports massage, acupuncture, cupping, and/or dry needling in one treatment built around what your body needs that day, whether you're training hard, coming back from an injury, or carrying pain that never quite goes away.

What's in a session

Your session is tailored to you, and Dave draws from:

  • Sports massage to work through tight, overworked, or guarded muscle and improve how you move

  • Acupuncture to settle the nervous system, support recovery, and address pain and tension at the root

  • Dry needling for stubborn trigger points and areas that haven't responded to other approaches

  • Cupping to release deep tissue restrictions and encourage circulation

Dave decides on the mix as he goes. He's highly attuned and intuitive, and he explains what he's finding and why as the session unfolds, so you understand your body better when you leave.

The goal: a calm nervous system

Dave's aim is to leave you in a parasympathetic state, the "rest and digest" mode where your body does its repair work. Many people walk out feeling looser and lighter, and also emotionally settled and more at home in their bodies. For athletes, this matters. Recovery happens when the body feels safe enough to let go.

Who this is for

  • Runners, cyclists, climbers, skiers, lifters, and other athletes in training

  • Weekend warriors with recurring aches

  • Anyone recovering from an injury or working around old ones

  • People whose bodies feel stuck, tight, or tired even when they're resting

You don't need to be an athlete. If you use your body, you're welcome here.

Why Dave

Dave has practiced acupuncture since 2011 and has more than 20 years of experience in bodywork. His training includes a Master's in acupuncture and Chinese herbology, neuromuscular therapy, and cranial sacral therapy, along with a kinesiology background from CU. He also lived the athlete's side of it: wrestling as a D1 athlete left lasting patterns in his own body, and learning to work with those patterns shaped how he treats others. He's a clear communicator who takes the time to understand what's going on before he begins.

What to expect

Treatments run [60 / 75 / 90] minutes. We'll start with a short conversation about what you're training for, what hurts, and what you'd like from the session. You'll be treated in a private, quiet space. Acupuncture has a short waiver, which we'll have ready for you. Wear comfortable clothing, eat something light beforehand, and drink plenty of water afterward.
