Emily York

RYT 500 | Vinyasa | Restorative | Yoga Nidra

Emily is a yoga teacher, self-proclaimed foodie, skier, and lover of animals originally from the tiny state of New Hampshire. Starting her practice of yoga at age 12, Emily found her love for movement that felt good in the body and helped with her anxiety. She knew she wanted to become a teacher someday, but after asking her teacher after her second or third class and hearing that she might be too young, she decided to wait. It wasn’t until her 200 hr training at Bending Bodhi in Dover, NH during her junior year of college when she figured out exactly why this practice helped her so much. This training opened her up to yoga beyond the physical practice and she knew she only touched the surface of all there is to learn. After graduating from the University of New Hampshire in 2025, Emily used her in-between time to complete her 300 hr training with Lakshmi Rising in Loulé, Portugal. She looks forward to continuing her learning and growing as both a teacher and student.

Emily’s vinyasa classes have a strong emphasis on breath, intentional movement, and being able to notice how the body truly feels as students move through each pose. She believes that yoga is for everyone, provides options for postures, and highly encourages the use of props to deepen the practice. Emily loves a full savasana because she knows the importance of stillness in our fast-paced society. She hopes that students leave her class feeling part of a community and feel a bit more connected with themselves than they did when they walked in.
